Formulatrix Tempest
Formulatrix's video was built to make complex physical properties-like microfluidic fluid dynamics and valve mechanics-easy to grasp. In high-throughput life science laboratories, accurate liquid handling is critical for consistent assay performance. Without automated precision, research teams face an expensive cost of inaction, including excessive reagent waste during priming and slow dispensing speeds. Our team at Advids focused on showcasing the reagent recovery mechanics to directly address these costly operational bottlenecks.
Transitioning from the external device enclosure to the core microfluidic engine, our design team established a clean, high-precision CAD aesthetic. This liquid-handling system visualization utilizes a layered structural layout, detailing the top and bottom plates alongside the internal valve array. We incorporated technical schematic overlays showing top and side cross-sections of the input, purge, and output valves. These clean structural diagrams map the fluid paths clearly so that Assay Developers immediately grasp the high-throughput performance and waste-reduction value.
Our motion design strategy employs dynamic pathways to track fluid flow through the priming, dispensing, and recovery phases. We built this structural technical animation to utilize high-contrast highlighting of active flow channels, reducing cognitive load during complex operational sequences. The clean, measured pacing prevents viewer fatigue while reinforcing the precision of the physical hardware. The resulting video establishes a professional, authoritative tone that instills deep technical trust and guides prospective evaluators toward exploring the platform further.
