Landis Gyr
Landis+Gyr's video was engineered to peel back the exterior casing and reveal the intricate internal mechanics driving their smart meter. In the demanding district heating and cooling sector, utility networks require uncompromising accuracy and longevity. Traditional metering infrastructure often succumbs to premature mechanical wear and inaccurate thermal measurements, leading to costly unplanned downtime. By highlighting the durability of ultrasonic thermal metering, we demonstrated how utility providers can prevent grid inefficiencies and operational losses.
At Advids, we initiated our design process by stripping away abstract graphics to construct a highly detailed industrial hardware visual breakdown. Our design team modeled an exploded 3D assembly showcasing the internal circuit board, all-metal housing, and brass flow part with transducers to establish immediate mechanical credibility. We paired this technical layout with high-contrast, fully assembled meter views framed by clean text callouts highlighting its robust and flexible structural attributes. This structural clarity reduces cognitive overhead so that Utility Managers and Building Engineers immediately grasp the long-term ROI of the device's physical durability.
The kinetic flow of the animation relies on fluid component convergence and rotational camera sweeps that follow the path of thermal energy. This structural motion guides the audience through the 3D technical product overview, using a balanced, high-contrast aesthetic that prevents visual fatigue while sustaining viewer engagement. By staging complex mechanical layers in a clean, spatial environment, we significantly reduced the viewer's cognitive load. The resulting authoritative presentation establishes deep operational trust, positioning Landis+Gyr as the definitive standard for industrial utility infrastructure.
