Volvo Penta
Volvo Penta's video was created to show how physical engines sync with mixed-reality digital assistants. In the marine power sector, technicians face extreme operational pressure when maintaining complex engines in remote offshore environments. Without immediate access to specialized expertise, fleets risk catastrophic unplanned downtime and costly repair errors that stall commercial operations. Our design team built this video to prove how integrating real-time AI can eliminate these critical knowledge gaps on the shop floor.
To establish immediate technical authority, we anchored this AR-guided maintenance introduction in a split-composition layout that balances real-world footage with precise spatial overlays. We structured the screen to place a physical technician in an industrial workshop alongside a vibrant 3D wireframe engine model. The design highlights key maintenance components, including a detailed fuel injector schematic and a step-by-step water separator filter guide, using sharp geometric HUD annotations. This spatial design approach strips away cognitive clutter so that Fleet Operators immediately grasp how mixed-reality diagnostics accelerate task accuracy.
Structuring this industrial solutions introduction around responsive UI transitions allows the voice-activated query steps to feel immediate and natural. Our motion strategy utilizes precise spatial tracking to simulate the actual HoloLens 2 interface as it scans the physical environment. We engineered a high-contrast dark visual environment for the digital overlays to ensure readability against bright metallic engine surfaces and reduce viewer fatigue. Ultimately, Advids produced a highly authoritative visual guide that builds deep operational trust and drives adoption of modernized maintenance workflows.
