AI Explainer Video for Redis Copilot: 3 Questions, 3 Answers on Screen
Redis needed developers to see that Redis Copilot does more than chat: it explains Redis and writes queries for their own dataset. This AI explainer video lets Copilot answer 3 real questions on screen inside Redis Insight, from "How do I get started with Redis?" to a query on parcel data, then closes on "SEE HOW FAST FEELS".

The problem: developers don't trust an AI assistant until it answers their question
Redis describes Copilot as a way to help developers learn and use Redis features faster, with suggested query commands for their own dataset. Almost every developer tool now ships an AI assistant with a similar promise, so a line like "The world's smartest Redis assistant" proves nothing on its own.
A developer judges an assistant by what it returns: is the answer right, is the query usable, does it know their data. So the video had to put real questions into the real Copilot panel and show every reply in full, from a first step to a query on a connected database.
How the video proves Copilot works, question by question
On-screen text and the chat panel carry every claim: each question is typed, and each answer appears in the interface. Select a time to play that scene above.
| Time | On screen | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| "The world's smartest Redis assistant" types out on a red card, then the same line sits on a laptop screen that switches to Redis Insight. | States the claim, then puts it inside the app where Copilot lives. | |
| Copilot's General tab: "/explain", "Ask me anything about Redis", then "How do I get started with Redis?" and a 3-step answer that ends with "Begin storing and retrieving data using Redis commands." | Answers the most basic question a new user types first. | |
| White title cards: "Make sense of your real-time data", then "...in real time." | Moves the viewer from learning Redis to working on their own data. | |
| Database tab, "Connected to your database". The question "How many large packages grouped by urgency are being routed via OX1?" returns an "FT.AGGREGATE parcel_idx" query with "Copy" and "Run", then a results table. | Proves the claim about suggested queries for your specific dataset. | |
| Title cards: "And learn from a Redis Expert", then "...to become a Redis Expert". | Sets up the third, harder question. | |
| "How can I store vector embeddings?" gets an answer naming "the HSET command or the JSON.SET command", one code example for each, and a link to "Redis Documentation on Vectors". The laptop then pulls back. | Shows Copilot handling an advanced, AI-era use of Redis and pointing to the docs. | |
| "Redis Copilot", then "Featured on Redis Insight". | Names the product and tells the viewer where to find it. | |
| "HOW", "FAST", "FEELS" in large type, then "SEE HOW FAST FEELS" and the Redis logo. | Ends the Copilot story on a line about speed and the Redis logo. |

4 decisions behind the Redis Copilot AI explainer video
Decision 1
3 questions, from first step to expert
The questions climb in difficulty: "How do I get started with Redis?" at 0:08, a parcel routing query at 0:19, "How can I store vector embeddings?" at 0:32. One assistant covers a new user and an expert.
Copy it: Write the 3 questions your users actually type, easiest first, and let the AI answer each on screen in full.
Decision 2
Show the query, not just the reply
At 0:22 Copilot returns a full "FT.AGGREGATE parcel_idx" command with "Copy" and "Run" buttons, and a results table follows. The viewer sees output they could use.
Copy it: If your AI produces code, a query or a file, show it being run and show the result.
Decision 3
Give each mode its own tab and scene
The General tab handles questions about Redis from 0:07. The Database tab, marked "Connected to your database", takes over at 0:18 for questions about the user's data.
Copy it: Name each mode of your AI with the label it has in the product and give it a separate scene.
Decision 4
Frame the chat in its home app
A laptop shows Redis Insight at 0:06 and again at 0:38, and the card at 0:42 reads "Featured on Redis Insight". The viewer knows where Copilot lives before the logo.
Copy it: Before you close, show where your AI sits in the product and say it in one line.
From Redis Insight screens to a 52-second AI explainer
- 3 questions, 3 levels. The script was built on 3 Copilot questions: getting started, querying your own data, and storing vector embeddings.
- Redis Insight UI integration. The Copilot panel, its General and Database tabs, the query block and the results table were brought in as UI elements ready to animate.
- Typed text animation. Questions, replies and title cards type out at reading pace, so each answer can be read before the next scene.
- Laptop framing and zooms. The interface was composited onto a laptop, with zooms in at the start and a pull back at the end.
- Brand title cards. Red and white cards in Redis type carry the claims, ending on "SEE HOW FAST FEELS" and the logo.
- Sound, edit and grade. Sound design, the final edit and color grading tied the UI scenes and title cards together.
Scope of work:
Production took 3 to 4 weeks on a budget of $1,200 to $2,000. See the SaaS video production service for how a project like this is scoped.
Questions about the Redis Copilot AI explainer video
Why does the Redis Copilot video open on a typed line?
From 0:00 to 0:02 "The world's smartest Redis assistant" types out letter by letter, like a prompt in a chat box. It sets up the chat format before the Redis Insight interface appears at 0:06.
Which questions does Copilot answer in the video?
Three: "How do I get started with Redis?" (0:08), "How many large packages grouped by urgency are being routed via OX1?" (0:19) and "How can I store vector embeddings?" (0:32). Each answer appears in full in the Copilot panel.
How does the video show Copilot working on a developer's own data?
At 0:18 the panel switches to the Database tab, marked "Connected to your database". Copilot turns the parcel question into an "FT.AGGREGATE parcel_idx" query with "Copy" and "Run" buttons, and a results table follows.
Where does the video say Redis Copilot is available?
The card at 0:42 reads "Redis Copilot" and "Featured on Redis Insight". The laptop scenes at 0:06 and 0:38 show the Copilot panel inside Redis Insight.
What does "SEE HOW FAST FEELS" do at the end?
From 0:44 the words "HOW", "FAST" and "FEELS" appear one by one, then the full line "SEE HOW FAST FEELS" and the Redis logo. It ends the Copilot story on a line about speed, not on a feature.
How long did the Redis Copilot video take, and what did it cost?
Production took 3 to 4 weeks on a budget of $1,200 to $2,000, covering visual assets, UI integration, text animation, compositing, sound design, editing and color grading.
