Ultimaker's video was built to make complex physical properties-like electrostatic charge build-up and dissipative transfer-easy to grasp. Operating within highly sensitive electronics assembly and hazardous industrial spaces, manufacturers face catastrophic risks when standard plastics accumulate static charges. Without reliable electrostatic discharge protection, unchecked sparks can destroy delicate microcontrollers, compromise safety protocols, and trigger devastating dust or chemical explosions on the factory floor. These manufacturing facilities must utilize specialized filaments to prevent catastrophic component failures and maintain secure operational environments.
Our design team anchored this electrostatic dissipative material demo in a structured, flat-design visual schema that translates high-level engineering into intuitive visual layouts. We compose clean 2D vector illustrations of circuit boards covered in positive charge markers to establish the immediate threat of static accumulation. To illustrate the solution, our layout transitions to a balanced diagram of the Ultimaker 3D printer surrounded by clean typography and functional icons representing temporal, financial, and operational efficiency gains. This clean visual hierarchy strips away unnecessary technical noise so that electronics manufacturing managers immediately grasp the cost-saving ROI of in-house localized production.
To bring these concepts to life, Advids utilized crisp vector movement and precise kinetic scaling to visualize charge dissipation step-by-step. We developed this manufacturing technology explainer using a high-contrast minimalist aesthetic where clean spatial layouts reduce cognitive fatigue and keep technical viewers engaged. Static sparks are animated with snappy energetic bursts, while the gradual fading of charge indicators visually simulates how the FDM filament safely routes excess electricity away from sensitive components. This structured visual progression, combined with an authoritative and educational narrative, builds deep trust and drives production engineers to integrate Ultimaker materials into their assembly lines.
