Fluigent
Fluigent's video was built to make complex physical properties-specifically fluidic resistance and microfluidic flow dynamics-easy to grasp. In microfluidic research, calculating the hydraulic resistance of chips and tubing is notoriously difficult for lab technicians. Relying on manual guesswork to determine optimal pressure and flow rates often leads to ruined samples, compromised cellular viability, and wasted reagents.
We initiated the design process by laying out clear, structured schematics of a standard fluidic circuit. This microfluidic configuration guide features a clean schematic diagram representing the physical routing of pressure controllers, reservoirs, and microfluidic chips. We then introduced interface captures of the web calculator, focusing on the numeric inputs for channel height, width, and tubing diameter. This deliberate visual breakdown ensures that bio-engineers immediately grasp how to translate physical setup dimensions into the digital tool to obtain precise flow values.
To animate this interactive tool demonstration, our design team used smooth highlight overlays and progressive step-by-step UI transitions to guide viewers through the workflow. The visual style balances technical accuracy with a clean, low-fatigue design, using high-contrast typography to reduce cognitive load during complex setup explanations. By structuring the information logically, Advids ensured that the motion graphics naturally support the overall educational pacing. Ultimately, this authoritative presentation builds confidence among researchers, driving them directly to use the online calculator to optimize their experimental setups.
